How the RSSB LDC Typing Test is Scored
RSSB does not grade you on a single "net WPM" line. Instead it awards marks for every correctly typed word, in each language separately:
English marks = correct words × 0.05 (500 × 0.05 = 25)
Hindi marks = correct words × 0.0625 (400 × 0.0625 = 25)
To qualify
Score at least 9 out of 25 in each language — roughly 18 WPM English and 16 WPM Hindi. Miss the minimum in either and you are out.
To be selected
Both scores add into your merit (50 marks total). Every extra correct word helps, so the real target is 50 WPM English / 40 WPM Hindi for the full 25 each.
There is one rule that changes how you should practise: you can correct a word only until you press the space bar. Once you space to the next word, the previous one is locked — a wrong word left behind simply earns zero for that word. That makes per-word accuracy far more valuable than raw speed. A clean 40 WPM will out-score a careless 50 WPM every time.

Week 1 — Accuracy first
Take one 10-minute English test daily with word highlighting on. Ignore speed; aim for zero uncorrected words. Because a word locks after the space bar, train the habit of glancing at each word before spacing.
Week 2 — Build English speed

The RSSB Hindi test uses Devlys 010, an ASCII (non-Unicode) font on the Remington typewriter layout.
